Hi, I hope you can help me with the following:
I am trying to connect a simple Nokia usb datacable to the serial port of a Linksys WRT54GL router. According to www.openwrt.org, this should be possible. I have cut of the telephone side of the cable and connected the four protruding wires with the router. When I plug the usb side of the cable into my pc, the router comes to live and I receive this in my syslog: > Jul 5 21:43:20 ubuntu kernel: [223407.379093] usb 1-3: new full speed > USB device using ohci_hcd and address 92 > Jul 5 21:43:21 ubuntu kernel: [223408.290371] usb 1-3: device > descriptor read/64, error -62 > Jul 5 21:43:22 ubuntu kernel: [223408.574153] usb 1-3: device > descriptor read/64, error -62 > Jul 5 21:43:22 ubuntu kernel: [223408.853931] usb 1-3: new full speed > USB device using ohci_hcd and address 93 > Jul 5 21:43:22 ubuntu kernel: [223409.033790] usb 1-3: device > descriptor read/64, error -62 > Jul 5 21:43:22 ubuntu kernel: [223409.313569] usb 1-3: device > descriptor read/64, error -62 > Jul 5 21:43:23 ubuntu kernel: [223409.593365] usb 1-3: new full speed > USB device using ohci_hcd and address 94 > Jul 5 21:43:23 ubuntu kernel: [223409.997023] usb 1-3: device not > accepting address 94, error -62 These lines just go on and on until I pull the cable. The router seems happy with lights on and everything, but no serial connection to misuse with minicom. Can anybody tell me what is going on?
