Ok, I'll just cut and paste it below (I take it you just want the Nikon section, which in this case is the second block, but I'll paste the whole thing. Where does your blacklist entry go: in or out of kernel? Or, more generally, how will the change get propagated to me? I had seen you discussing a similar error with someone else (I believe it was Alan Cox w a D70), so I figured it was a similar problem. The D2Xs is not such a common camera, so not surprising it didn't come up before. But why would this happen now? It was working earlier with the same kernel version [2.6.22]. Is there something outside of the kernel that changed? Or did I pick up some small kernel change?
