Hi,
IIRC, SuSE 6.3 contains some very early USB code.
We don't recommend using it.
For Linux-USB info, see www.linux-usb.org.
It has driver status and other info.
It has a link to the Linux-USB backport for 2.2.14.
You can use that; otherwise USB is only available
in the 2.3.xx development kernels (latest is 2.3.99-pre2).
And it will be in Linux 2.4 when it's released.
The Linux-USB web page also has a link to the
Linux USB Guide (used to be HOWTO). This should
cover your basic installation/setup questions.
And yes, your mouse will work, but remember that
it's still in the development kernel. We've put a lot
of work into it (mostly Vojtech Pavlik for HID devices),
it's mostly working, but you could also have a few
problems with it. Just send your questions/problems
back to this mailing list.

Subject: [linux-usb] usb mouse
I bought a copy of SuSe 6.3 today. I was reading the manual about USB
support, and it said that it is not currently supported. I have a MS
Intellimouse Explorer w/ USB interface. Obviously, I will not be able to
have mouse support in Linux w/o some kind of driver. Can you tell me when
the support will be added, and if available, where I can find the
information that I need to install and configure my mouse.
Thanks for your help.
Jacob
