hi,
I just subscribed to this list after going through the linux-USB pages
and list archives (for the last two months) looking for some info..
first, I'm looking to start building my own system within the next two
months and I'm planning on purchasing a USB-Zip 100 ($79 @
ValueAmerica until March 31) as well as a USB mouse and Keyboard.. my
main reason for this is I might eventually invest on a mac for music
composition which brings me to the next question:
are USB MIDI devices like the MidiMan MidiSport supported or is
support planned? or is MidiMan one of those Bad Vendors (No Biscuit!)
who refuses to open their spec? I realize this is not exactly the most
popular item in use by the linux community, but I would like some idea
of what has been done in that field before I take the plunge and start
looking into perhaps contributing to the linux-USB project :)
also, anyone know when 2.4 is going to be released? and what is the
projected USB status for then?
lastly, I've seen other USB keyboard and mouse devices by companies
other than Logitech and M$ and was wondering if they use their own
protocol or if its something that complies to the two big guys.. I
still haven't decided whether I want to go mouse or trackball and I've
seen features I like in several of them..
that's all I can think of now.. any help would be greatly appreciated..
