You are correct. These commands are part of the EPSON Remote
Mode, and it's not part of the ESC/P2 command set. Otherwise
we aleady would have access to these commands. EPSON decided
that all of ESC/P2 is now available to us without an NDA.
They just released the ESC(D command description, which was
only available under a NDA until a few weeks ago. So they
are changing their position in regards to free software
development.

Ink level queries, ... are also part of the Remove Mode.
Before we get even more OT here on the USB list:
Now that we know that these commands need to be sent just
once per session - what's the status of this "firmware
daemon" that was discussed a few days ago?
