No good news: using 2.3.99-pre8, with USB mouse and keyboard connected to
monitor LG795FtPlus hub, the two devices doesn't work, and I obtain at boot
the following:
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xc4800000, IRQ 5
usb-ohci.c: Acer Laboratories Inc. [ALi] M5237 USB
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 1
hub.c: USB hub found
hub.c: 2 ports detected
(...)
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 2
hub.c: USB hub found
(...)
usb.c: registered new driver hid
If I use the same kernel, but with the old hw configuration (monitor hub
disconnected, keyboard connected to the root hub and PS/2 mouse connected
to the keyboard socket), the two devices doesn't work no more, and the
message is slightly different but maybe useful...:
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xc4800000, IRQ 5
usb-ohci.c: Acer Laboratories Inc. [ALi] M5237 USB
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 1
hub.c: USB hub found
hub.c: 2 ports detected
(...)
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 2
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address (error=-32)
usb.c: USB disconnect on device -1
(...)
usb.c: registered new driver hid
On the contrary, with this last hw configuration (monitor hub disconnected
and useless), with 2.2.14 and backport usb-2.3.99-pre6-7-for-2.2.14,
keyboard and mouse worked fine, and the message was:
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb.c: registered new driver hid
(...)
usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xc4000000, IRQ 5
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 1
hub.c: USB hub found
hub.c: 2 ports detected
(...)
usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned device number 2
keybdev.c: Adding keyboard: input0
event0: Event device for input0
input0: USB HID v1.00 Keyboard
mouse0: PS/2 mouse device for input1
keybdev.c: Adding keyboard: input1
event1: Event device for input1
input1: USB HID v1.00 device
I hope this helps, in order to find a solution to this monitor hub problem.
Thanks a lot!
