Interesting.

Things I noticed on a quick scan:  this approach has its
own config language (vs /bin/sh or some other standard),
and "usbdevfs" is not optional.  I'd change those.

Things I do like about this include having a decent web
page, and documentation not just in English.  (There's
a page of Japanese docs there too, EUC-JP.)  It's got an
RC script or two.
