(second message ?)
I've also seen reports where some mass storage
devices work better with OHCI than with UHCI.
If you just need it to work, OHCI might be the
right thing to do (for you). If you want to
help Linux-USB improve, you should tell us about
your usb/zip/uchi problems and what kind of mobo
and UHCI controller it is, etc.
I haven't used my Zip-100 drive in the last couple
of weeks, so I can't say if it works with UHCI
today or not. Ideally some regression testing
would let us know if anything has been broken
from one kernel or driver to the next, but we
(the Linux world) use a different regression
testing model -- you (in general).
[Besides, I'm working on things like CTX
monitor/hubs being "different" and printer
timeouts and bandwidth allocation.]
If you haven't sent the logs, you should send them.
OTOH, if you have very thin skin, maybe you
shouldn't send them. (I prefer to leave discussions
about thin/thick skin etc. on the kernel mailing
list please.)
