Probably not worth while paying to fix it.  If it quite suddenly started
to burn coasters then it is quite likely to be a lubrication problem.  If
you can get far enough into it to see the two shafts the head runs on and
put a drop of oil onto them and push the head up and down a few times you
may find that it works again.  You have nothing to loose.
