Hi All,

Well from what i understand there are only 8 main cd
media manufacturers (i might be wrong),

But obviously the different burn speeds mean different
types of media, a good way find out whats good is run
a cdmeda identifier which tells you what factory the
media came from and the polimer used, so after a while
you can find that media made from a plant/polimer is
good for you, i.e. 4x (650mb) imation is not the same
as 24x speed (700mb) imation.

A excellent resource in the net on this matter is
www.cdmediaworld.com. Good site, absolutly everything
to do with CDR's and Writers.

I have tend to have the most trouble with Mega data,
TDK (650mb), Mr Data and, Transsonic (650mb). When i
mean trouble i mean, that they burn fine but they tend
to stop being bootable/or older cdrom's gave trouble
reading them.
