As in the source distributed?  I don't think so..  

As developments go it wouldn't bee too difficult to replicate the /. setup,
but the issue would be time to do it..You could start with one of the
existing php/mysql CMS systems and go from there.  phpnuke or mamboserver
might be a good starting point.

They (/.) have done the hard work establishing a model.  It would take some
time to replicate it, but not an inordinate amount if you had a small team
of dedicated nutters on the job..

And if it worked, then it'd be the serious money for the bandwidth which
would stop most punters..

Even in the land of the free (supposedly) data volumes in the scale of /.
would not be cheap, I imagine we're talking upwards of 100Gb a month of
throughput...  How many hits do they get a day?  Average out to maybe 15k a
hit?  By the time users have cached the images etc.
