I wish to add a new 30G hd to my box replacing the 1G one I have on IDE1

The bios can handle up to 8.4G so partitioning is required and anyway I
want 2 2G ptns for W95 with the rest available to linux. I have tried
Seagate's Disk Manager and Western Digital's EZ software. Each of these
writes to (corrupts?) the boot sector on the primary drive which causes
W95/2 to ignore or over-ride startup options I have inserted in the
config.sys menu to be actioned as options in autoexec.bat. These options
give me the ability to start linux, dos only, or W95.

I have tried setting up fat16 partitions (about 15) and fat32 (4)and
then altering them with diskdrake in linux. w95 then fails to correctly
identify the altered setup when I reboot it. Also with fat32 it adds an
additional drive letter for each ptn.

Others must have had this problem. What partitioning software is out
there which would do the job correctly?

TIA

Barry
