When it decided to install 2.4x modules for a 2.2x kernel, that was the last straw. Previously I had a Trio64+ video card that caused the Xconfigurator to lock up, an RTL8139 network card that it couldn't identify, and a standard 2-button Microsoft serial mouse on ttyS1 that it wouldn't recognise. The hardware is now all running under RH6.2 with no hardware changes and default software settings.
I know I tend to attract trouble, but I can't understand how Mandrake is getting rave reviews - particularly with the unreliable video card detection problems. It's a real shame as they are trying very hard and coming up with appealing user interfaces.
