Arrogance? Only debian people on #linux?

Please explain how that works. You advise to install a current distro,
although you already know that isn't an option, so forget it. Assuming Vik
had installed a version of debian >3y old, 3y ago. If your ravings are any
good, he would now be able to simply install konqueror - right? If not, why?

If yes, how does it work? Has someone ported a current konqueror to a >3y
old debian, and that gets installed? Or does the whole distro get updated on
the fly? Gee Vik would curse you for that!

Please explain a) how it would work with a >3y old debian now, b) a current
debian in 3y time.
