It seems really easy to set up and use - and the interface doesn't seem
that bad to use either. I never touched Smoothwall following the
discussion about it on here a while back...

What I really want to know is how effective it is. Has anyone done some
live real-world testing and compared it to the likes of Raptor or a PIX
box?

Regards

Steve

Oh, Nick, are you using PPPoE? Or PPPoA?

Yes it is forked from smoothwall, not because sw was inferior, but
because it's owner/developer is an arrogant rude f'wit.

Smoothwall works well, and ipcop should too.

I am ready to install it when I get 1/2 an hour to spare. I am using sw
as a gateay/firewal at home on jetstart via pppoe. Let me know if I can
help.
