But wasn't winders written for dummies. With win98 I take it on myself to "dumb down" the interface a lot for everyday users, just let them see what they need to see. For me, "opening up" the desktop on XP was trivial, though I admit, I felt insulted the first time I saw the default <vbg>. XPHome defaults to a pretty "safe" interface IMO. Small improvement over win2000 so not a real upgrade issue. I think XP is much better behaved on a network than previous incarnations :) You make good points though. Adrian
