I had already added the users without the -a

smbpasswd  <username>

Unfortunately your suggestion did not work either.

Tried with and without password encryption on the Linux and Windows PC's -
still no go.

I have read so much documentation regarding this and it all reads fairly
simple. I have got as far as being able to see all of the shares on the
Windows PC's from the Linux machine but not the other way. My frustration is
starting to turn me off Linux but maybe if I can make the meeting on Monday
I may get the answers I need.

Have you added the users to samba?

smbpasswd -a <username>

I think thats the syntax.

Also could try removing the enripted password option.
