Hehe, OK you caught me :) I have only one CD writer, and two desktop boxes,
one being linux and one being Win2k. The Win2k box primarily has printers,
scanners, and other media related stuff - basically stuff I've got Windows
drivers for. With all the media files, it made sense to me to stick the cd
writer on that machine, as it is often media files that are getting written
to CD. The linux box just has hard drives and a plain cdrom, and is used
mainly for file serving, but that is changing slowly ;) I may consider
changing things once I get back from the US. Its not a platform thing, just
practicality - over time, more and more of my stuff is progressing to OSS.
