On campus there is pukeko.cosc (stratum 1) and cantva (startum 2, or 3 if pukeko isn't going). The ntp server on cantva is completely utterly stuffed/buggered/younameit. It's a version 3 server which, contrary to any BS which says otherwise, is not compatible with version 4 ntp clients (I once wasted a lot of time finding this out). I know that the last version 3 ntpd shipped with Red Hat (about 5.x or so) worked with cantva. pukeko is fine. You can reach the waikato truechimer ones, but if you're on campus you need to have this directIP (or whatever it's called these days) to be able to connect to it. > Is there any local chch ones > that are available to the public? Not that I know of, use the waikato ones. Volker -- Volker Kuhlmann is possibly list0570 with the domain in header http://volker.orcon.net.nz/ Please do not CC list postings to me.
