I've recently moved my desktop back to Windows 2000. For what I need to do at home (games, photoshop, dreamweaver) its better. I still run linux servers and all linux machines at work, but after months of trying I really couldnt get the hang of Gimp.
Tried VMWare and win4lin (very nice) but they didn't give me the speed I needed. And cygwin under 2k didnt suit my needs either. So the final solution is a linux box in the corner with Linux Terminal Server Project ( www.ltsp.org ) so I can remotely boot linux from any machine in the house. Plus its setup so I get the same login dialog via remote boot, vnc or a remote X query - meaning other people using it can connect however they want and still get the same feel. Give me 6 months and I'll probably be back to a Linux desktop though :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "C Falconer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Jeremy Bertenshaw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, July 11, 2002 10:45 AM Subject: Re: Re: Switching from windows to linux, or was that the other way round... > Windows version evangelism on a linux list?
