As a Mandrake newbie from Saturday I believe the first thing I need to do
is to come to terms with some of the new expressions, commands and
abbreviations. I was advised from whence to download some documentation.
The downloaded file came with a .gz extension, which had I the
documentation (!) might have told me was a zip file.
However, I discovered this and more by luck than knowledge managed to unzip
into `archive'. However, when trying to open in Star Office or an editor I
simply ended up with a blank page of that file name.
I feel like a 3 year old who has been given a book entitled 'How to Learn
to Read'.
As one who wishes to USE Linux, as opposed to 'playing' with it I realise
that I could be unique, but I could just start a trend.

Help! (or whatever commands are used to say the word in Linux.)

Peter.
