There
is a good chance it is a supported modem, but Linux will not auto-detect
it.
This
might help:
Open
two shell windows, and in one type "tail -f /var/log/messages" which will
show you the machine system log, and all sorts of useless(ful)
information..
In the
other, type 'service pcmcia restart' which will unload, and then re-load the
pcmcia card services.
In the
first window it should show some messages about what it's doing, and the
identity of the cards it finds on the pcmcia bus. (all things being
equal...)
Armed
with the type of card it is, you can then do a search on Google, or the redhat
site itself for the modem type..
Post
the chunk out of the log to the list if you don't get anywhere, from the point
that it says it's restarting the card services.
Cheers, Chris H.
