I agree about learning to use command line, how powerful it is and the usual steep learning curve that accompany it. I was brought up with Dos, then Win 3.11, Win 95, Win98, and Win 2000, it is no wonder that I have accustomised with Windows and Dos environment. Each level up upgrade of windows it seems easier and more intuitive to use, but when I started Linux a month ago I made a mistake of thinking it would have been easier still. However, now I realised that Linux is like a new language that needs to be learned, and frustration usually comes with it due to not being able to do what you want with what you know. I'm hanging in there just because I had some great support from some people here.

The head tutor at > Cosc and lecturer spent 60 minutes with me trying to get the picture to I know exactly what you mean. I have written quite a few reports in my uni life and had spent nights on getting the layout right (stopping the damn pictures moving around). I've heard about LaTeX but still haven't seen it yet. Is it available on RH7.3? How do I start it up? (I might not have fully explored the "taskbar" yet) Cheers, Hansen
