I have a 5-in-1 reader, although not sure of the brand. I got the impression it was one of these generic things. I can verify that it works with linux. It sure as hell does't work with Win 98 or Win 2000, causing the former to hang and the latter to spontaneously reboot, badly written drivers I suspect. From memory with Linux I just plugged it in and mounted it, simple.
