Just thought I'd post a quick note to say that I thought the meeting was
good.

Good talk, Carl. Katie thought it was good and said she (probably)
learned something,... and if that didn't help, shes got 600 odd pages of
learning to do. About the RUTE raffle, cheers Nick, and everyone else.
Katie was kinda shocked and surprised about winning it... but big ups I
say for being the only girl at the meeting (that stayed, anyway). Which
makes me think too, where was Tess, with her Bells on?

That was my first meeting, and so I cant really comment on how it was
better or worse than other meetings, but I think its a good idea to have
a meeting of some description monthly. I like the idea of trouble
shooting sessions,.. personally, i'd rather sit down with someone (or
vice versa) and play with a computer under the pretence of fixing it,
than sit in a hall and talk about "Back in 'Nam in '72, how we used VAX
to win the war" (okay... so now i'm shit stirring)... BUT... I do like
the idea of having a meeting in a pub, where we can all sit around and
talk about "Back in 'Nam...(etc)", and not actually have a formal
presentation.

Also, so far as rooms/halls go, I like the concept of Uni, Leacture
theaters are made that way for a reason... and they have Internet, and
projectors already (Thinking of MSCS031, for those that know it), and
for the trouble shooting sessions possibly MSCS101, with its internet,
and whiteboard... (oka, well the whiteboard would hold little practical
purpose, but they're fun).

So thats about my 2 cents worth...

Good meeting people, cya in "30 days, give or take a week"

Cheers,
Steve
