Assumptions I have made (please comment on good or bad) 1. /etc/exports is fine because I can mount the share as root post boot. 2. /etc/hosts.allow is also fine because it does not stop machine 2 from mounting post boot? I do see the note in hosts.allow about portmap and nfs ..... but fail to see how it could cause said behavior. OT. I never knew you could get man 5 to cat a file. Mark
