yes, for mail-clients that can not interpret html.
however, you sent plain-text and html,

clients that can't read html will choose plain-text,
if people complain then not for readability reasons...

myself i would not even have noticed the html attachment hadn't 
someone complaind.

i simply ignore html attachments.
(bandwith? what's that? :-)))
