I tried that, Chris, earlier in the year when I had display problems following a Mandrake 7.2 install. It was mainly 'Enter cd/home, ls -a, look you can see what's in the home directory. Enter cd/etc, ls -a, look you can see what's in the etc directory. Enter ... look you can see ... Enter......' Eventually I came to the page concerning setting up the monitor, where it said, 'Your monitor should have been correctly set up during the installation' Boom, boom! Peter.
