Hi Nick, Thanks for the reply, I have run Lilo but it keeps loading onto hdb, was not sure whether I should use the -r option when I run Lilo and specify /dev/hda1. The first line of lilo.conf says boot=/dev/hdb1 so I have changed this to boot=/dev/hda1. I read the article and it seems a better option than Lilo, however it would probably take me a lot longer to get it working with grub than Lilo, so I'll press on with lilo for now.
