Yes, thank you for the comments. While Quanta offers quite a bit more than Bluefish, my focus was on compactness and simplicity. I have really limited hardware resources and do normally not use KDE, just fvwm2. But Quanta (12 MB) requires kdelibs (3.5 MB) and kdelibs-artsd (30 MB), altogether about 45 MB, as compared to only a few MB (2?, or 3?) for Bluefish. Bluefish is considerably faster on my old 486, and for the simple things I had to do it was absolutely sufficient.
