Just for the sake of saying "me too", I used to race CR 125's in California and then in NZ I've had a CBR 250RR, a NC24 VFR 400 and an NC30 VFR 400. Next toy (when cash permits) is a TL 1000R. My M8 just sold his RSV 1000 Mille and that was a SCARY bike to ride. But what a hoot!! =) And that sound from the titanium exhaust....ahhhh music to the ears.

Live to Ride!!

Very cool...

If you want to scare yourself, get yourself on board a GSXR750RR, and
because it's less than 1l you might get cheaper insurance, as long as you
leave the 'rr' off the end when you try and cut the deal with the insurance
company! :-).

I'm currently riding a warmed up FJ1100 (1250 wiseco forged pistons and C&N
cams). We do a few rallies every year two up, and can't beat it for long
hauls. Did 17,000 last year two up, and about another 8 one up. I'm
intending to do the southern cross this year as well..

This summer I'm either going to upgrade that to a FJR1300 or buy myself
another bike to do a bit of blasting.. Something like the vfr800 would
suit my style, I'm not really an R1 sort of guy... :-).

Do the other lug-bikers do rallies at all?

Yep, the one and only :-) took an 02 for a blast on
saturday, didn't really scare me unfortunately, but I
hear the older 98/99 ones are a bit less refined,
looking at a couple of 99's up north so have to go
and see how they compare.

I wasn't really planning on buying one til mid next
year, but a fellow list member and bad influence is
buying an '01 blade, so I had to follow suit :-).

R1 as in Yamaha?

License removal device..... A serious blast to ride though.

I'm a bit more of a tourer, dribbling over glossies of the FJR1300
currently...
