Don't we all... this is a bit of a sad story under Linux. Try snd, but make sure to link with openmotif, not gtk. Its UI has a reasonably high suck factor. Gramofile was designed to split vinyl recordings into tracks and do some noise and click filtering. I would do some serious looking into the filtering quality first. console app. soundstudio kind of works, but not on huge files. Monica reported that cooledit works under wine. It's probably one of the best you get for billyware. I doubt you find anything for Linux which offers similar quality of algorithms. There's sox of course, but it mainly does format conversions. Its filters I don't think are of high quality, you don't need the effect stuff, and its UI can only be described as obnoxious. command line app. Volker -- Volker Kuhlmann
