Hi CLUG,

I am trying to install the Linux Mandrake Soundcard drivers that came with my
Motherboard (my soundcard is intergrated with the motherboard). There are drivers for
4 different distros.

They are for the 2.4-20mdk kernal so I had to modify the install shell script so I
could (attempt) to install them as I am running mandrake 8.2 with a 2.4.18-6mdk
kernal. But unfortuanlly it didnt install and when you run insmod vioaudio.o it says
there are unresloved symbols and the mod is not under GPL so I must contact the
supplier but I tried contacting the company that makes the motherboard but go no
response.

I have tried ALSA but the sound quality is very scratchy. I saw on a forum that the
latest ALSA unstable drivers work well but I dont know how to install them and would
rather get drivers that came with teh motherboard to work.

Please help me if you can. If you would like to download the drivers I got with my CD
get them here:
Mandrake (8.0?) http://bestworldweb.homelinux.com/sound/74audio.mdk80.gz
Redhat(7.1?) http://bestworldweb.homelinux.com/sound/74audio.rht71.gz

The files are gunziped AND tarred.

Thanks for any help
