It was confirmed a while back (4-5 weeks now) that Apple maintains a current
X86 port of OS X. However It was suggested that it would never be released for
several reason one being the Hardware Sales bit the Second reason was the
Reaction of Microsoft to such a release. You could say good bye to all MS Mac
products like office, msn IE explorer etc. Also It was thought should MS
decide to take Apple head on apple wouldn't have a chance and that the only
reason MS doesn't currently do this AntiTrust and all was Because the
commercial OS X releases can only be run on Apple computers. So unless some
one manages to "aquire" the x86 copy some how I doubt we'll ever see it unless
Linux or some other OS manages to destroy MS market Share.
