Having said that, don't go past the :excellent textual email clients: pine, elm, and mutt. The only reason I :don't use pine is that I *like* dragging and dropping email messages :between folders, despite it being slower and more error-prone than using :pine :)
I live and die with mutt. I do way too much work remotely, connecting to my mailserver with ssh and using mutt/vim. Filtering is handled by procmail and bogofilter, so mailing lists are sorted and spam is almost non-existant. It's a beautiful life. Of course, while perfectly functional, the text clients will never live up to the expectations of a graphical user. I have to admit, too, Evolution is really nice. Greg --- -
