A quick search on Google (Linux) shows that it was supported at least as far back as Mandrake 6, so should be OK. I have never had a problem with adaptec cards - I have some TEKRAM cards that are not so well supported, but adaptec ones seem to always be OK.

Subject: [OT] SCSI cards for my scanner
Date: Fri, 08 Nov 2002 14:27:43 +1300

Hi,

I have a HP 3C scanner. The problem is, it came with an ISA card,
and I'll need a PCI card to use it with my new computer. (I'd
rather not get a new scanner - this one's been brilliant.)

I have my eye on an Adaptec 2906 SCSI card (easy to get hold of, for
one thing). I've checked compatability lists and HOWTOs - haven't
found this specific card, but a lot of its relatives are fine. That
sort of luck has worked for me before, but it's still just luck.

So, has anyone on this list tried it with Linux? Or would you
recommend something else?

Thanks for any help,

Tim
