Buy an external modem, so much less hassle in the long
run, they can be picked up cheaply around town, cash
converters even has them from time to time.

Hi all, any reccomendations for a linux friendly 56K modem?
 
Currently using a PCHELL HSP56 Micromodem (yes I know its a Winmodem) which Im obviously wanting to replace.
 
Linmodems.org etc are very good for winmodem stuff - but before I end up with hardware I can't use - I thought Id gets some advice.
