o For first-person shooters you can try Doom (Free), Unreal Tournament
(II and III), the Quake series (I is Free, I'm not sure about II), or
Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
o Strategy has a bit of a hole since Loki lost all their money, but I
play my old copy of Myth II quite a bit. FreeCiv is quite good if you
are on a network.
o I really enjoy Tux Racer as my racing game.
o While there are a few role-playing *engines* out there, the
only commercial role-playing game that I know of is Neverwinter
Nights, which is under development for Linux:

o Finally the Wine variants are all quite good at playing Windows games
