Thanks for this information.  We have now registered a vendor ID, so we
have a gazillion MAC addresses to use, however, before we did that we
used one that was questionable.  It did not begin with 00 00, and the side
effect was that our multifunction printer/scanner/photocopier/fax changed
its IP address to match the development board.  Every time we changed the
IP address of the development board the printer would follow it...

When we put a real MAC address in everything became calm and beautiful
again.
