For some years now the disks had spare hidden blocks to transparently
swap with the bad blocks inevitably encountered on disks.

If you see bad blocks it means that the hidden "supply" has been exhausted.

If you value your data and time to restore the system at anything
more than ~200$ then replace it ASAP

If you don't value it then why bother ? ;-)
It may die on you at any time anyway.
