I am running a dual boot SuSE 8.0 / Win98
system
I get the following error messages when booting
into linux
Reiserfsck: could not open filesystem on
"/dev/hda5"
Warning.... fsck.reiserfs for device /dev/hda5
exited with signal 6
fsck.reiserfs /dev/hda5 failes (status 0X8) run
manually!
clm-6005:writing node 941 on readonly
FS
after a few more lines it continues
fsck failed. Please repair manually and
reboot.
The file system is currently mounted
read-only.
To remount it read-write do:
bash# mount -n -o remount,rw /
Attention: Only CONTROL-D will reboot the system in
this maintanance mode: shutdown or reboot will not work.
Give root password to login:
I enter my root password and the prompt changes
to
(none):~#
I enter the command as stated above, and then press
enter.
I reboot by using CONTROL-D
and it makes no difference, I get the same messages
again. It makes no difference if I use either the safe settings, or repair boot
options.
Do I have to reinstall or is their an easier
way???
thanks
Graham
