Yes there is a free equivalent named Current. I'm following it's development
but it doesn't currently work with RedHat 8.0 without some serious tweaks
plus some other inconveniences. i.e. at this point it requires time to
set up and maintain (time I don't have)

With apt, AFAIK you can't feed automatically the official patches
(or at least not easily) and this is what I am interested mostly.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
