I fully understand Peter. I too have been frustrated in the past by CLUG's CLI leanings and lack of desktop/end user focus. I hope, that starting with my talk, the CLUG can begin a new era of a more balanced focus on all levels of Linux user/tweaker/hacker.

It would be a huge loss to the CLUG if you left so, at least as far as I am concerned, please come back and help us get the CLUG on track.

Thanks for the explanation. My departure probably not permanent but we are
off to Invercargill for the National Vintage Motor Cycle Rally followed by
the After-Rally Tour, then there's the Richard Pearse Centenial
Celebrations at Timaru and Waitohi with the Easter Rally on the Coast not
long after, followed immediately by a trip to the UK. Averaging between 80
and 100 e-mails a day I thought it best to cut back on the largest
subscribers to my inbox. 
Actually I've made little progress with Linux, mainly because as a PC USER
there don't appear to be any suitable programmes to satisfy my
requirements, plus a concentration by CLUG on PC PLAYING (as opposed to
USING). Hopefully I can get back from Waitohi in time for Jason's
presentation which might provide a spur again.

Its not an address Peter, its a url. The standard which prescribes the
    

mailto: url link has been extended in non standard ways by a number of
people. I believe that the?body= extension is NOT part of the standard,
and therefore may not be interpreted consistently by all mail clients.

Well, that's a new one on me; having to enter a url in a browser (Netscape)
in order to open an outgoing mail in my mailer (Eudora)!
