On a related matter...once I have a partial file, how do I go back and download the rest of it, without overwriting the part I already have?
The -c switch to wget will do the trick, for anything which is capable of resuming (not all FTP servers behave right, but almost all HTTP server should since resumption is a native part of the spec)..
OK, I have d\l'ed this stuff from a server in Aus, via http (with stupid
JS based auto-d/l starter). That server times out too often (might confuse Netscrape into thinking its finished!), so I've now gone to get the exact same file from another server. I get given the option to
rename, overwrite, but not to resume the file...which pisses me off
since it is the SAME file!! Where is the clever resume function?!
Theres 20 minutes of wasted modem transfer involved....time I do not wish to waste by reloading part of a file I already have...just cause the stupid Aussie server biffed me off originally! ;^\
Frustrated regards,
