Hi there,

Chris, which celestia package are you using? They are available for
mandrake. If installed properly from the mandrake rpm using urpmi it
should also install the dependencies.

I grabbed 1.2.5 from rpmfind.net. It was the stable MDK i686 RPM, and not the latest CVS snap or devel version...

Or have you already been down that route and the mandrake celestia rpm
is broken?

I am having trouble adding (or finding correct URL's for) ftp sites with urpmi.addmedia. Does rpmfind have a hdlist.cz I can point urpmi at?

Alternatively If you listened to Chris Sawtell's advice and compiled the
thing from source, it should compileand run against the libraries you
DO have.

That is my next option, but I guess I'm still 'scared' of the concept of compiling stuff. Also I have not had much luck doing so with any stuff I have tried to compile (usually ./configure exits with an error, so no makefile is generated). Its weird, but when I installed Mandrake I simply selected everything, everywhere to install just to make sure that I had a complete suite of all stuff needed for gcc etc...to work, and I still have trouble compiling even simple stuff, let alone a monster like Celestia...I will however give Celestia source a try! ;^)

Sadly my newbieness creeps in when confronted by 50 lines of errors in
a ./configure attempt...

Kind regards,

Chris Wilkinson, Christchurch.
