Looks as he has a similar setup to me ,.....judging by the IP it is a paradise cable connection to a single NIC .....
Adam are you at the install stage or have you got your base system up and running ???? I take it the box your installing on is to be a gateway/firewall type box with a internal network connected to a router/switch with the uplink to the Cable modem and you want internal traffic NAT'd by the box your installing to ??? If this is the case it'd be easier to finish installing Gentoo on the box then look at setting up iptables (or which ever GUI you want to use if X is installed )to forward internal requests via the box your building ....
