Well, regardless of the exact syntax of the ALSA stuff, I now find myself with a make.conf that emerge won't work with - meaning I can't add, remove or update software (eeek!)
I've removed the ALSA line, and the KONSOLE_DCOP, but each time an 'emerge' fails with another "Parse Error". - steve (It takes a *long* time to get Gentoo fully setup with KDE and OO etc, so I'd rather not go backwards. I've done a diff against make.conf.saved.1 and I'll see if I can manually tidy it up, but there's a lot of stuff in there and presumable it's neccessary...) -----Original Message----- From: Nick Rout [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, 18 June 2003 10:21 a.m. To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Parse error in /etc/make.conf ? not sure that you need "env" If you take out the line altogether it will still compile alsa-driver, but it will take longer and will produce drivers for every sound card known to alsa, but theres not too much problem with that unless you are tight for room or time.
