I use Cygwin XFree86 if I want to connect to a Linux or Unix box. I only wish I didn't have to go in to the Cygwin shell to start it up. It would be nice to just have an icon on the desktop that I could click to bring up X.
I use the UnxUtils (http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/) for all my linux type functions on Windows. The great thing about UnxUtils is that you don't need to run a different shell. I can use all those utils from the Windows command prompt. > It's the cheaper option, and certainly offers linux-like > tools.
