Careful. Treading this path may cause you to fall in love with vi/vim. In my IT-managed work environment, I find myself hitting ESC often when typing work emails in graphical programs. My fingers remember keystroke macros, and some of those automatic combinations don't do what you'd expect. Actually, one of the most annoying thing I've run across is editors that implement a simple sub-set of vi keybindings. I find it frustrating, because it's enough to be familiar but enough to be powerful. Greg --- -
