http://www.stacken.kth.se/project/pptout/ I could not get this one to compile properly when I tried it some time aga, but it was highly recommended to me by another list member. There has been an upgrade since I tried it. http://www.koffice.org/kword/ This works in two modes, a pretty straight forward text mode for producing normal work-processing stuff, and a FrameMaker like mode for DTP. I have found it to be satisfactory in both modes. Take care with your installation of the fonts. There is a 3Mbyte file here:- http://berty.dyndns.org/KdeApps.pdf which demonstrates the kind of thing possible. There have been huge improvements to KWord since the Federal German Government expressed an interest in KDE. There is also OpenOffice.org, but I don't consider it that simple. Works better than KWord at importing MS Office files. http://www.openoffice.org/ -- C. S.
